17/07/2017
First online meeting explaining the role of Associate Partners in ITELab together with the vision of Future Classroom Teacher in connection to ITELab course modules and a MOOC (online course) was held on 21 June 2017.
Dr Conor Galvin, Director of University College Dublin's MA Education Programme, introduced the vision and thinking influencing the design of new student teacher training materials being developed within ITELab. Working closely with ITELab partners in the first design and development cycle, Conor emphasised that "it's about sharing our innovative practices, ….bringing materials together in new and interesting ways….rethinking the way ICT is used to feed into better pedagogy and enable student teachers to become more confident." Conor also shared various reference points shaping thinking: digital badges, ECTS points, educator competency frameworks and self-evaluation tools and models.
Bart Verswijvel, the FCL Pedagogical Adviser of EUN, talked about the vision of Future Classroom Teacher, which will be supported by the online course developed in ITELab. For Bart working with teachers from across Europe, "it's about the promotion of an attitude of sharing and learning, being part of social professional network, bringing new ideas into the classroom on a daily basis."
