Working with Learners

In-class Teaching Module C

Designed to introduce and explore principles and practical issues relating to working with learners and its value to the beginning teacher in programmes of formation and education: situational awareness in teaching and learning settings; reflection on, in and for classroom action; working on practice.
Working with Learners offers two different implementation options: a week to week module framework similar to the other two modules; and a block teaching module that is aligned to the award of a Microsoft Innovative Educator certificate.  See the ITELab Staff Hub for further details.  Have a look how this went when UCD followed the block option, co-teaching in the Microsoft Ireland DreamSpace, with universities attending in person, or linking remotely as shown in the video below!

Students teaching taking this module will be asked to register to the IRIS Connect video-based platform and Microsoft Educator Community, which will provide them with an access to both platforms and online courses, free of charge. Each participant successfully finishing the block teaching option module  will receive a Microsoft Innovative Educator Badge.

If you wish to find out more, please have a look at the handbook for Beginning and Student Teachers (also available in Italian, Norwegian and Portuguese) and/or watch the online briefing we held in April 2019.
